Well, there we go. Most folk see the somewhat more affordable forecourt price, and forget all about the maintenance costs performance cars require, if they ever understood it at all. And then moan about how crappy and unreliable it is. Fact is, 30 years back, maybe cars were more reliable, but the most you'd expect from a 2Litre everyman car would be around 120bhp. Engines are tuned much harder these days straight from factory, for both performance and emissions. Push this gospel; if you can't afford it new, you can't afford it used.

I had an Si……lovely car but what a nightmare to sell. It was a lovely example and I practically gave it away. I seen some Si’s and M’s on the market for over a year before the ads disappeared. Although these are lovely cars they are niche, impractical and not cheap to run (certainly not the M). You really need to love these cars to buy one and there’s plenty to choose from.

Also, webuyanycar doesn't buy any car. Anything over 10 years old I think it is, they won't consider. Try selling a classic or a 25 year old car.

Our webuyanycar place also drastically reduces the price they agreed to the price they are prepared to pay when you take it to them. It's all about hoping you'll just accept it, to halp them with their profi margins. The only time I've been happy with we buy any car is when we were going to scrap a car anyway, and they used to come and take it away on a trailer for you.

I'm a tuner from the top down. Here's a pro tip: "IF" you know what you're doing you can take ANY vehicle and make it perform better than it was originally intended. It comes down to what you can and are willing to spend in order to get it there. I love turning, from planning to procurement and actually building my project. This is an excellent video giving people an idea of what's possible. Some people will say just buy an M4. If that's what you want to do then by all means. However, for those of you who love to make things do more than what they were originally meant to do, go have fun with doing that and pay no mind to what others say. That's my 2 cents! 😉

I just bought a second hand BMW and the steering wheel is really sticky, like it's melted plastic or something. I think it's alcantara, but about 16yrs old. Do you think this technique will work or should I get a steering wheel cover?

Did you spend 15k on putting it 60% right of spent 15k on the car at the beginning..you said 14 plus .....nice to see the effort put in but was worse rs I've seen..if you spent 14 plus on the 15k to make it some what better hence I put 60% ..could of got in low mileage minter for 26k 😅

@EVIL GT Is it normal for your B7 to crank for ≥2 seconds? Mine cranks and idles in an instant - I'm in South Africa and its Autumn/Summer. Also, what other styled rims may I fit other than the OEM? I took my 6 year old Fiat 500 with only 24000 miles on the clock which was absolutely mint with main dealer FSH - I'd owned it from new and even had the wheels refurbed so it was literally perfect. WBAC insisted that 4 of the body panels had been resprayed and I told them I'd owned the car from when it still had the polythene wrapping on it when it arrived at the dealer from the factory. They wanted to knock £1000 off the quoted £4500 price and I told them to do one. A relative 70 miles away who owned a bodyshop stuck it on his forecourt for £5000 the following week and someone bought it the first morning. They are a massive con.

M4 is morenplanted than sport suspension f32 or even coils. You guys need rear subframe solid mounts or other stiff bushes, otherwise subframe will live it’s own life. I had the same issue with my e92 and m3 bushes changed a lot. No more floaty boaty feeling

WBAC are great if your car is knackered but the issues are not visible with a quick walk around check. Mine had broken lower arms (£1000 to fix) knackered suspension at the front (hid the squeak with WD40) and the turbo was on the way out. Their price was shocking for a decent car but better than scrap value so it worked for me. I would never bother with the DIY online quote it will just break your heart when you get the final quote. Just rock up with your car and get the chap to quote it whilst you’re there. If you do the DIY online quote use a reg from Auto trader for the same spec of car and add in all of the damage and then knock 30% off the valuation to get a realistic price.
